Sewing Fun

So I finally got into sewing! I had 3 sewing machines that I just couldn't get to work as I just didn't know what I was doing. I got fed up last week and took all of them into a shop to sell. The lady said that I could trade all 3 in for one very nice simple machine. I told her no I just can't do it. She said that I could call her, come in for help any time, and also take free classes. She even said I could get my girls into classes for free too! Ok thats where she had me and so I came home with a new machine.
Well I made 2 curtains, embroider a reusable shopping bag and its been fun this last week as I did it all on my own. No help from her as the machine is really simple. I am very happy as all I paid was the sales tax and trade in those other machines.
What do you think, as I taught myself.

Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup

With the super cold weather we are eating a ton of soup but this is out #1 recipe for my family!
My family and I are in so much love with my homemade chicken noodle soup that we have it often. I would say at least on the minimum side once a month year round. When we make beer can chicken I make an extra chicken to save for when I make the soup. The beer can chicken drippings leave enough from the two chickens cooking to make it into a stock when I put the chicken into the crock pot.
Break down:
Beer Can Chicken
I take the chicken and clean it out while rubbing my seasoning on the out/in sides.
Seasonings:
1 tablespoon of salt
1 tablespoon of pepper
3 tablespoons of all seasoning
1 tablespoon of cumin
1 tablespoon of chili pepper
3 tablespoons of butter soft

Now in the in side of the chicken:
Before I place it on the beer stand I slice 1/2 an onion and 1/2 lemon sticking them in side the chicken. Next place the chicken onto the beer can stand onto a foiled cookie sheet.
Put into oven for 45 minutes or until done.
Let rest for 20 to 35 minutes then clean the chicken off the bone and chop up.

Into a pot on the stove while the chicken is cooking I start the veggies if I don't already have the chicken cooked from a meal before.

Into the pot:
1 stick of butter
1 onion diced
1 clove of garlic
6 diced up carrots
6 diced up celery
2 Cups Peas
Let all these each one start to brown up a little (or soften up if its the carrots and celery). Mine takes around 15 minutes or so. You can add any other seasonings, veggies, and herbs you would like.
Next add chicken stock container and chopped up chicken that you have cleaned off your precooked chicken into the pot.

Noodles:
1 pot of water with olive oil drizzle and shake of salt to a boil while making noodles
I love homemade noodles!
3 cups flour
3 pinches salt
3 eggs
1 tsp butter
Mix all ingredients. Roll thin with flour and cut into 1 inch strips. (I have a roller and cutter that attaches to my Kitchen Aid Machine). Let dry 5 minutes or until not tacky.
Drop into hot water and boil 15 minutes.

I then add noodles to the rest of my chicken soup pot and if I need any extra liquid I use the water from boiling the noodles. Then I taste to make sure it is seasoned right. If need to add extra seasonings to your taste.

Yes its a lot of work but in my house its worth it and it feeds my family of four with leftovers!

Welcome

I have started Hidden Treasure Ranch Boutique where I can use my creative style for handmade gifts and decor. I also want to share weekly homemade recipes and DIY tips. Hidden Treasure Ranch Boutique offers many great gifts, home/office decor, treasures to add to your collection, and more.
Let me share with you about myself! I am a mother of two great little daughters that are growing up fast. I have a wonderful husband that I enjoy spending time with even if we are doing work. We have 3 horses, 3 dogs, cats, and some chickens. My girls are going to do 4-H and so who knows what more animals that will bring. I have a degree in architecture and visual communication. I really love to be creative, design new products, and also work on DIY projects. We live in wonderful Colorado. Here we go 4 wheeling, camping, and ride our horses.
I have a taste for rustic decor but also I love to do custom design works of art for my customers. I create personal works of arts for weddings, home decor, office decor, table settings, specialty gifts, and much more. Its the joy of seeing someone get the item they requested into their hands and being able to gift it or use it themselves.

I plan on weekly sharing homemade recipes and DIY projects. I have a passion also for cooking. Its just something that cooking a great full filling meal for your loved ones that puts a smile on my face. Homemade and handmade are just wonderful cause its a product that is produced with love. A manufacture that produces many of the same item with a machine will not have the same as something that is hand created.
I hope you join me for the daily and weekly posting of my adventures. I can't wait to see comments and inputs of what I have to offer and share.
